Setting up Konek QR Listener

Install, allow and pair the Listener app on the cashier phone.

Konek QR Listener is an Android app that reads the "payment received" notifications from the merchant account app on your phone, then sends the amount to Konek QR to be matched with an invoice. Without Listener, invoices can only be marked as paid by hand.

What you need:

  • An Android phone signed in to the merchant app that receives your QRIS payments, with its payment notifications turned on. The safest choice is a phone just for the cashier that is always charging and online.
  • A Konek QR account. One account can pair at most 2 phones.

1. Download the APK from the dashboard

Listener is not on Google Play. Download it only from app.konekqr.web.id/listener (the App menu). Do not install a Konek QR APK that someone sent you in a chat or group.

That page shows the version, the size, the SHA-256 of the APK file, and the fingerprint of the signing certificate. Before you install, you can:

  • open the VirusTotal link on that page (it goes straight to the scan results for the same file),
  • check that the SHA-256 of the file you downloaded matches the one shown,
  • for technical users: run apksigner verify --print-certs konekqr-listener.apk, then compare the certificate fingerprint. Every version is signed with the same certificate; if it is different, do not install it.

2. Install the APK

  1. Open the downloaded file (from the download notification or the Files app).
  2. If asked, allow the browser or the Files app to install apps from this source.
  3. Play Protect may warn you because the app is not from Google Play. Make sure the SHA-256 matches, then choose to install anyway.

3. Allow notification access (and "Restricted settings")

Open Konek QR Listener, read the data consent screen (what it reads, where it sends it, how long it is kept), then allow notification access.

On Android 13 and later, apps installed from outside the Play Store can hit Restricted settings: the notification access switch is grayed out with a message like "For your security, this setting is currently unavailable". To unlock it:

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Konek QR Listener.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, then Allow restricted settings, and confirm with your PIN or fingerprint.
  3. Go back to Listener and turn on notification access.

The ⋮ menu only appears after you have tried once to turn on notification access and been refused. If it is still not there, type "restricted settings" into the Settings search box.

4. Do not let the phone stop Listener

Android, especially on Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Realme, often stops apps that run in the background. Listener has a health check with a fix button for each item below; work through it until everything is green.

Where to find the menus on each brand (the names can differ a little between versions):

  • Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO (MIUI, HyperOS): Settings → Apps → Manage apps → Konek QR Listener → turn on Autostart, and set Battery saver → No restrictions. Also lock Listener in the recent apps screen (long-press its card → padlock icon).
  • Oppo / Realme (ColorOS, realme UI): Settings → Apps → App management → Konek QR Listener → Battery usage: turn on Allow background activity and Allow auto launch.
  • Vivo (Funtouch OS, OriginOS): Settings → Battery → High background power consumption → allow Listener; then i Manager → App manager → Autostart → turn on Listener.
  • Samsung (One UI): Settings → Apps → Konek QR Listener → Battery → Unrestricted. Make sure Listener is not on the Sleeping apps list in Device care → Battery → Background usage limits.

5. Pair the phone with your account

  1. On a computer, open app.konekqr.web.id/devices (the Devices menu) → Pair a phone. Enter your account password: a paired phone can confirm payments, so this step asks you to confirm it is you.
  2. The dashboard shows a pairing QR. The code is valid for 10 minutes and works once.
  3. In Listener, choose pair, scan that QR, and give the phone a name (for example "Cashier phone").
  4. Within a few seconds the phone appears on the Devices page as Online, with its app version, battery and queue size.

6. Verify your QRIS

A QRIS can be used for live invoices only after it is verified. In QRIS, press verify on your QRIS, then pay the small amount it asks for (Rp1,001–Rp1,999) to that same QRIS from any app. As soon as Listener detects the payment, the QRIS becomes active.

How Listener works day to day

  • Every payment notification is saved in a queue on the phone before it is sent. When the internet drops, the queue is sent again automatically once the connection is back, after the phone restarts, and every 15 minutes. The queue is kept for up to 7 days.
  • Matching uses the time the notification appeared on the phone (corrected for the phone's clock offset), so a payment made while the phone was offline still counts at the right time.
  • The phone sends a heartbeat every 180 seconds. If nothing arrives for 7 minutes, the phone is considered offline: the dashboard shows it, a device.offline event goes to your webhook, and your notification channels (Telegram, Discord, email) are told.
  • Listener only reads notifications from merchant apps on the official list. Chats, SMS and other apps are never sent. Listener never asks for the password, PIN or OTP of your merchant account.
